Sr. Software Development Engineer

 

As security software development engineer you will be working with top notch engineers on mission-critical enterprise software.  You will gain exposure to the many internally developed security technologies as well as 3rd party products and technologies in the market.  This role is ideal for innovative engineers and requires excellent communication skills as well as a high degree of adaptability and creativity.

 

Candidate Profile:

 

·  6+ years software development experience, 3+ years in Linux/UNIX development.

·  Strong application-layer network knowledge, operating system, security related technology, server/system architecture design understanding.

·  Proven experience in working with large and complex code base.

·  Familiar with team software development phases and methodologies.

·  Must demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.

·  Ideal candidate should demonstrate history of technical innovation, attention to detail, ability to handle shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking.

·  Able to convert broad requirements to detailed specification and document software designs via functional specifications and other design documents.

·  Good planning and effort estimation skills.

 

Technical Experience Requirements:

 

·  Strong Linux development experience.  Windows development experiences a plus.

·  C and C++ programming in both multi-threaded and multi-process applications.  Proficiency in other programming languages a plus.

·  Socket programming and system programming. Kernel and device driver development experience a plus.

·  Networking (protocol stack) knowledge.

·  Development experience with application layer protocol such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3.

·  Network appliance or firmware/embedded system development a plus. 

·  Experience working on security related applications or components highly desirable.

 

Education:

 

·  Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

·  Graduate degree and degrees from top tier schools highly desirable.
