Sr. Software Development Engineer Test
The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in the Quality Assurance group with the opportunity to share their broad knowledge and experiences with other developing test professionals. They will contribute significantly to the best practices utilized within the group and be key in deciding tools, methodologies, and frameworks to be used. Proven experience in understanding the details of complex software systems will show in the creation of thorough testing strategies and test plans and attention to detail will help in implementing test cases. The candidate will be able to demonstrate software design and coding skills by building infrastructure tools and coding automated test cases. Working in an Agile/Scrum development environment will allow the candidate to work closely with the development team and to promote good quality practices throughout the organization. Finally, passion for software quality and customer focus will be realized in continuously increasing levels of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability
Required
• Solid software design and coding skills in C#, C++, Java, or similar.
• Broad experience across Testing Automation Disciplines (computer assisted testing, load testing, security testing, etc.)
• Excellent software testing abilities with command of test planning and test case design
• Hands on experience working with Development group to improve quality and testability of code.
• Previous Software Test Automation or Software Development experience with progressively increasing areas of responsibility.
• Strong mentoring and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work cross-departmentally with other teams to achieve results.
Preferred
• Experience developing test tools, testing frameworks, infrastructure development etc
Education/experience/certifications
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 8 plus years relevant experience with progressively increasing areas of responsibility, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable
• Travel estimated to be approximately 4 weeks a year.
