Sr Software Engineer B

Primary function: To assume responsibility for technical projects involving the design and development of new software. Directs the work of other engineers and technicians; plans and monitors project costs and schedules. Duties: 1. Devises the initial concept of software development and participates in the overall detailed product design. 2. Assumes project responsibility and carries it through various stages of development per established schedule. 3. Performs administrative project tasks such as planning and monitoring schedules and budgets. 4. Recognizes design problems and errors and takes corrective action. 5. Creates original software, processes, and models to prove the feasibility of the approach being investigated. 6. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests. 7. Conceives, analyzes prepares and presents proposals for new programs which will lead to new products; organizes and implements or assists in organizing and implementing a thorough r&d program. 8. Monitors the technical program or a portion of it to ensure that fundamentals are fully understood, basic problems are solved, and analysis and design approaches are sufficiently rigorous. 9. Utilizes other organizations such as purchasing, marketing service and quality assurance as needed to carry out responsibilities. 10. Ensures that all documentation is accomplished and in proper form. 11. Works with manufacturing during pilot run and first production runs, to ensure an efficient transition from engineering into production. 12. Directs engineering and technical support personnel as required. 13. Maintains a high level of technical competence and state-of-the-art awareness. 14. Develops cost estimates for products, projects and programs. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position requirements: Specific training, skills and experience needed to perform the job typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or other related technical discipline plus seven (7) years experience or an equivalent combination of relevant technical education and experience such as a masters degree plus five (5) years experience or a ph. D. Plus two (2) years experience. Requires the demonstrated ability to direct project work. Scope: As assigned.Qualifications1.5-8 years experience designing and coding in Microsoft .NET framework using VC++, Visual C#.NET with emphasis on designing Windows Client applications using WinForms, ASP.NET& CSS . Experience in relational database such as Sybase or SQL Server using ADO.NET a plus.2.Experience in FDA regulated medical device industry a plus.3. Experience designing and coding in Microsoft .Net 3.0, WPF, WF & XAML a plus4. Experience in using reporting engines like Crystal5. Strong Object-oriented analysis and design background a must. Use of UML modeling tools a plus.6. Pride in attention to detail.7. Must be highly self motivated, independent thinker capable of working alone and leading a team of developers.8.
