The person in this position is responsible for developing insights from web-related data with particular emphasis on understanding the effectiveness of user flows, introduction of new features, and current and future marketing programs. The Web Analyst delivers data which illustrates present strengths and weaknesses of the Website and then recommends and tests paths to improvement.  The Web Analyst facilitates data-driven decisions throughout the consumer organization.   Identify how effective various programs and Web site flows are performing. Participate in analysis of User Satisfaction surveys. Create, run, and report data from User Performance Analysis software (Foglight by Quest).  Examples are: user errors in purchase flow, effectiveness of upsells, sample user scenarios. Conduct Ad hoc research: Manage a queue of ad hoc research requests, which often will be related to user experience and marketing planning or metrics. Provide analytical support to product management, marketing, and engineering teams, especially in the project definition phase. Determine Key Performance Indicators of enhancement effectiveness during the development phase, mine data using relational database and web analytics reporting tools to monitor these KPIs, then analyze and interpret the results Create recurring reports in addition to presentations which will be delivered in a variety of forums to employees at all levels of the company. Solicit and/or recommend improvements that target conversion rates and user satisfaction, then implement and manage the testing of improvements. Provide regular reporting and analysis to clients that support their business needs and assist client managers in interpreting the analysis. Identify successes, failures, and trends and effectively communicate these findings.     EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:   Demonstrated ability to collect data, analyze trends, find stories, draw conclusions and act on recommendations. Experience with web analytics program e.g. Coremetrics, WebTrends, Visual Sciences, Unica, Google Analytics) Experience with statistical programs such as SAS and SPSS, and with statistical testing solutions such as Offermatica and Optimost. Experience tracking solutions for technologies such as Flash, AJAX, video, etc. Experience merging website traffic data with ad serving data and/or user profile data from other data sources Designing, constructing, and running reports using various online web-analytics solution Constructing reporting dashboards in Excel with external queries. Assisting in various web analytics projects, using data-mining techniques. Experience writing and de-bugging sophisticated JavaScript tags is desirable Proficiency in SQL or Access is also desirable     QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:   BA or BS in Statistics, Business, Economics, Math or Computer Science (Master’s preferred) Minimum of three years hands on experience analyzing Web data for a medium to large ecommerce Web site or group of Web sites (5 years preferred) Strong analytical and statistical skills Mastery of Excel, PowerPoint and other software tools for reporting and presenting data.
