Staff Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an Accountant I to assist the GL Finance team with month-end close and analysis and preparation of financial information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the candidate to assist with the following:Monthly Business Report reviews Prepare and keypunch various journal entries for month end close Prepare various Income Statement Expense and Balance Sheet reconciliations Assist with analysis of accruals and prepaid expenses Contact various Directors for monthly accrual amounts Assist with various utilities in SAP Maintain and post recurring journal entries on a monthly basis Maintain journal entry logs for all countries Assist with review of groups' expenses Internal orders: setup new, maintenance, settlement of orders Assist with semi-annual reorganization of company in SAP Assist with inter-company billing process Keypunch wire transfers in banking software; post wire payments in SAP Download and provide GL coding for the American Express travel credit card Assist with running and printing of bank reports on a daily basis and distributing reports to appropriate personnel Assist with posting activity on Cash Control daily Assist with activating and disposing of fixed assets Assist with running Depreciation program. Assist with year end audit. Projects and other duties as assigned by manager

 

Required SkillsBachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in General Ledger. Must possess experience with Windows (Excel & Word); experience with SAP, PowerPoint and Access a plus. Strong mathematical, financial, and analytical skills Strong knowledge of GAAP Must have excellent communications skills and be a team player. Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and be able to present to groups of customers or employees. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various accounting software packages. Must also be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
