Staff Engineer - Software Engineer - VC Services

VMware Inc., a pioneer in virtualization software for industry-standard computers, is seeking a senior software engineer with strong distributed systems and scalable applications development experience. The candidate will participate in and provide technical leadership for the design of next generation management products and the enhancement of the virtualization interface to encompass multiple servers.

• Design and develop the next generation control and management software for VMware's virtualization products
• Work with UI engineers and usability specialists to provide the appropriate abstractions for exposing the underlying concepts in the physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of developers
• Work with QA engineers and ensure software testability, quality and stability
• Work with the documentation team and ensure good quality documentation of the API

Requires:

• 8 + years software development experience
• C, C++ programming, & Server Side Application Development experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent teamwork skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, MS/Phd preferred
