Statistician / Sr. Scientist

Responsibilities:

· Conduct complicated data analyses for a wide range of consulting projects spanning both the commercial and government sectors

· Provide leadership and guidance on statistical issues in support of development of software applications

· Collaborate in the writing of proposals and grants

· Prepare project reports and make presentations to senior level management

· Travel, as required, for onsite presentations and work

· Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the Client’s organizations

Preferred:Ph D. in a quantitative field Familiarity with optimization methods: Linear and non-linear programming techniques Genetic and evolutionary algorithmsAt least 2 years experience applying statistical methodology to business problems. Familiarity with programming languages (JAVA or C++) to facilitate interaction with computer science team Knowledge of SQL and/or other relational databases

Requirements: Masters in a quantitative field + 3 - 6 years of experience Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the modern data analytic and statistical tool-kit, including many of the following subject areas:  standard regression methods, neural nets, recursive partitioning, text mining, experimental design, longitudinal analysis, survey methods, clustering methods, association analysis Must be able to explain technical statistical topics to non-technical management in an easily understandable way Ability to apply appropriate statistical methods to real-world situations In depth, day-to-day experience with at least two of the following statistical packages:  SAS, R/S-Plus, SPSS, JMP Experience with data cleaning and the diverse problems of analyzing large, complex data sets Must be able to move easily between working collaboratively and very independently A publication record in peer reviewed journals
