Join the Corporate Strategy Group at Microsoft as a Senior Director:· Help drive the growth agenda for Microsoft across the corporation.· Find and evaluate white space opportunities for Microsoft.· Help drive decisions to enter businesses and develop seed plans for new businesses. Corporate Strategy looks across the entire spectrum of Microsoft businesses and future opportunities to focus on:· Growth, · White space opportunities, · Prioritizing investment opportunities,· Cross-cutting strategic issues that affect multiple business divisions, · Disruptive business trends that may be threats and opportunities to Microsoft, · Connecting the strategic thinking done across Microsoft. As a senior director, you will work with executives at the corporate level and across the business divisions at Microsoft. You'll lead a small team of incredibly bright and practical thinkers who can frame complex strategic problems to develop clear recommendations; drive effective cross-company teamwork; and present to and discuss recommendations with executives. Our goal is drive to decisions about new businesses, business models, and investments that pay off in profit-making growth; to gain funding for these decisions; and to help formulate the early stage plans for new businesses. Your analytical skills, business insight, and personal persuasiveness enable you to impact executive decisions about new business investments. You are more motivated by thought leadership and impact than team size and process. You want to be part of an organization where the decisions you drive and the scale of investments that we can undertake will impact the world. You like the challenge of understanding businesses that range from enterprise software to online services to consumer devices. Job_Requirements: After earning an MBA and five plus years of experience in strategy consulting, in internal strategy or business development in a tech. company, or experience with technology startups you want to be in an environment where you can stay engaged with the business. With this background you bring the following critical skills to the job:· Understand businesses and sectors with focus on: sustainable competitive, product, business, and technical advantages; customer adoption and business growth for new products and services; and economic drivers of revenue, market share, and profitability;· Communication and interpersonal skills for information gathering; team-building to solve business problems and develop recommendations; and making persuasive, impactful recommendations to executives;· Practical experiences based on one or more of "tech" acquisitions; tech startups; or new product strategy, planning, development, and market launch.
