Systems Analyst - Active Directory

The Lead Active Directory Engineer serves to maintain and grow the current state of the Microsoft Active Directory platform to serve the needs of both the users and the applications used by Sony Pictures Entertainment. This includes a continuous balance between support of the existing environment and configuration to support current and future needs. Other duties may include:

 Independently manage and support daily issues encountered in maintaining systems at various data centersDevelop and maintain project plans for various sized projects.Communicate effectively with all areas of IT and customers.Identify, research and resolve technical issues, escalate issues when appropriate.Develop proposals, request for proposals, etc. for projects.Define requirements or technical specifications for various sized projects.Prepare time estimates for complex system updates, enhancements or modifications.Implement, troubleshoot and maintain NT or Netware systems.Prepare and execute acceptance test plans for systems tasks and associated change management itemsProvide oral and written status reports to Server service managementPrepare and execute contingency plans for various system tasks and associated change management items.Develop and maintain positive business relationships with team members, application developers, system managers and system customers.Execute team and personal goals as assigned.

Configure and extend Active Directory configuration to support current and future needs

Coordinate regional Active Directory management activities to support global platform requirements including support of messaging and other applications

Provide 3rd level technical support to resolve Active Directory technical issues

Independently manage and support daily issues encountered in maintaining systems at various data centers.


Prepare and execute test plans and change procedures for system tasks and associated change management items.


Prepare time estimates for various system element tasks and associated change management items.


Prepare server changes for review by server staff or Manager.

Knowledge of:

 Active Directory Replication topology Active Directory Sites and Services in 50+ Site environment
Best practices for Domain Controller / Global Catalog builds in an Enterprise environmentForest / Domain name resolution services to support Exchange 2007Active Directory-Integrated DNS with 3rd party DNS services (ie Cisco Network Registrar) Active Directory Security Delegation models / Organizational Unit Design for global organization (6000+ users)Quest Active Roles software for administrationIntegration with 3rd party Identity Management software (Lighthouse, Siteminder, etc.)Proficient in administration of NT and Netware operating systems. Certifications in one or more of the products is strongly desired.File system and system storage conceptsServer hardware and system conceptsPrevious experience in a Server/Systems production environmentKnowledge of project management techniques

Skill In:

 Powershell scripting experience preferredDeep technical troubleshooting and problem resolution experienceStrong interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work effectively with team members, clients and other areas of the IT environmentStrong written and oral communicationsExcellent problem solving abilities, strong decision making skills and make sound judgment decisions.
