This position will partner with the IT systems delivery teams and leadership to review current Systems Delivery Processes, provide guidance, and define success measurements and/or improvement initiatives which will ensure that best practices are executed on all projects. The individual in this position will provide leadership in analysis, requirements management, functional design, quality assurance, and implementation activities associated with existing and new applications and their associated business processes. The candidate must be results oriented, innovative, adaptive and collaborative. This individual will report to the Business Application Manager responsible for business solutions primarily supporting the Claims and Individual Disability Insurance business units. There are two Systems Analyst positions available. - Lead and perform requirements elicitation and documentation, analysis, and functional design of applications and their associated business processes. As needed, contribute to the analysis of data requirements and development of logical data models. Partner with clients to acquire understanding of business objectives and processes. Provide information, feedback, and guidance to clients to support technology-related decision making. Consults and works with development teams in the execution of design decisions. Manage the change control process associated with the business applications. - Assist business stakeholder in the ongoing prioritization of work requests, coordinate development estimates and help establish and schedule software releases. - Function as project communication liaison to all levels of business and technical personnel to achieve common understanding among all relevant parties of processes, applications or project activities. - Lead, mentor, perform and consult on the development and execution of any testing related activity, including but not limited to risk analysis, test plans, test case or results analysis; coordinates testing activities, diagnosis of application or process deficiencies and/or problems. Lead solution or resolution efforts. - Develop schedules and /or plans for projects or parts of projects and provide input on resources necessary for effective project execution. Support scope definition and issue management activities for effective project execution. - Lead implementation and training activities to ensure projects reach stated objectives. Collaborate with department and IT management and peers in providing leadership to analyst peer group. Participate in other Information Systems related activities required to support the company's business. - Demonstrated experience and ability to apply the following in order to meet business and technical objectives within department and/or enterprise wide applications: - Advanced skills in system analysis concepts, techniques and tools - Knowledge of business process modeling and analysis - Testing concepts, techniques and tools - Project Planning concepts and tools, such as MS Project - Demonstrated experience eliciting and managing business requirements for driving technology solution - Demonstrated experience successfully working in collaboration with business departments - Demonstrated experience working with Vendor packaged systems. - Demonstrated experience with software development life cycle for business applications - Demonstrated experience with object oriented analysis and design techniques, including use cases. - Knowledge of relational databases, Client Server development, Mainframe development tools, and Web-based development tools. - Ability to perform rudimentary data analysis with Oracle SQL - Ability to develop conceptual and logical data models - Demonstrated experience with software change control processes and tools Education: Degree in Information Systems or related field. Experience: Five or more years experience in systems analysis; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
