Day to Day Work Primary role is to assure the steady state environment is maintained to sustain customer expectations. This includes a thorough understanding and comprehension of Windows installation, support, and diagnosis. Be able to assist at any time with virtualization (VmWare) migration tools. Be able to monitor and quickly diagnose problems in the legacy windows environments as well as the VmWare environments. Secondary role is general support in a Citrix and Solaris environment. Some Oracle background is necessary. VmWare certification is mandatory. Foglight experience, BigFix experience, Linux experience. BS degree required plus 3 to 7 years experience working in a Windows 2000/2003 open systems server support role (preferably a data center model). In-depth knowledge of MicroSoft Active Directory Administration and server virtualization (VmWare). Professional Microsoft certifications (MSCE / MCSA) required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficient PC skills, attention to detail, and solid analytical skills. Primarily interfaces with clients, service delivery units, immediate management and other team members to ensure an accurate service request is routed to the appropriate service provider.
