Systems Project Manager

Our direct client is looking for a Systems Project Manager who has experience as the point person on multiple systems. Insurance background is preferred. Must be comfortable working in a small environment, managing system developers, and working on day to day technical issues.

Manages and directs a professional and technical staff of 2-10 on system related projects.
* Coordinates user or client needs and work activities of staffs.
* Directs and assigns work activities and priorities.
* Reviews and evaluates staff.
* Is accountable for the results of the assigned project.
* Creates, maintains, and tracks progress of designated Project Plans.
* Attains commitment of resources required to keep plan on track. Follow up to ensure commitments are kept and accomplishments are realized.
* Prepares regular status reports on plan's activities. Reports issues and risks with recommended mitigating actions.
* Interacts with all resources required on projects to explore and document tasks required to fulfill each group's objectives in the project plan.
* Negotiates resource requirements with responsible management when faced with conflicts in priorities

* Secondary Duties
* Assist in the exploration of solutions to the business requirements for project.
* Reviews and advises on contractual issues with the vendors of software and services for the project.
* Maintains knowledge of the IT industry developments.
* Participates in recommending standards and procedures.

Qualifications
Has a bachelors degree in computer science and at least 8 years experience in systems analysis and design.
