Introduction: Exa Corporation seeks an experienced Technical Account Manager to fill a key leadership position within Exa’s sales team. We are particularly interested in candidates with a technical background that have experience managing programs in the US Army or managing accounts and building revenue in the Automotive and Ground Transportation Industry. Experience working with OEM’s and Tier One suppliers is desired. Technical background in Automotive Engineering is also a plus. Experience with CAE tools and delivering consulting services to Automotive, Heavy Truck, Military Vehicles or other OEM’s is a plus. A military background, particularly experience with the US Army’s ground vehicle programs, is also a plus.
This position will be responsible to build business and generate increasing revenues with a select group of major, military ground vehicle OEM accounts. This person will lead consulting services engagements by working closely with the customer and Exa’s Application Engineering team to use our suite of software products to drive the project engagement and meet customer goals. This person must have the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels with in the key accounts to drive Exa’s agenda and add value to build revenue. Exa Corporation develops and markets software for design engineers to analyze complex fluid-flow problems, and software to prepare geometry for use in a variety of analysis tools. The company's PowerFLOW and PowerCLAY products are marketed to engineers worldwide in a range of industries including automotive, aerospace, chemical, energy, architectural, and environmental. PowerFLOW is a breakthrough technology that is unique among computational fluid dynamics (CFD) packages in its ability to handle complex geometry and deliver accurate fluid- flow analysis at a fraction of the total cost of other available solutions. PowerCLAY is a powerful geometry design tool for CAE mesh preprocessing that provides sophisticated mesh deformation capabilities. Both PowerFLOW and PowerCLAY allow customers to shrink design cycles by incorporating quick turnaround analysis throughout the design cycle.
Responsibilities: As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you are a member of the sales team and will have a performance based compensation package related to revenue. You will report directly to the Director of the Government/Defense Business Unit. Previous experience building revenue streams with-in large OEM accounts is a plus. You must be solution-oriented, customer-focused, very responsive, able to develop strong relationships with customers and possess the skills to lead clients and engineering teams in a consulting services situation. Previous experience in the US military, Automotive Engineering and/or experience interfacing with clients is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. The ability to manage multiple customer projects and lead project teams to meet client deliverables is a must. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans, services project plans, leading technical project teams to achieve project milestones on time and on budget, analyzing and presenting technical results to clients, and developing new consulting and revenue opportunities within key accounts. You will interact with and support the sales and technical teams in other Exa offices as part of the global sales organization.
Requirements:
BS or MS in ME, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or equivalent. Proven Account Management Skills, developing and executing strategic account plans. Strong track record of increasing revenues with-in select OEM accounts. Strong Negotiating and Project Management Skills. Excellent Time Management and Leadership Skills. Proven problem-solving skills, able to thrive in fast-paced environment, strong desire to learn. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; good presentation skills. Strong organizational skills. Able to handle multiple tasks/multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent Customer Facing Skills. Able to develop strong relationships with clients and lead clients during consulting services projects. 5 years experience in Account Management or Sales with large OEM’s or Tier One Suppliers (or equivalent military experience). 5+ years experience leading project teams to meet project timelines and deliverables. 2+ years experience in delivering client solutions, product engineering and/or technical consulting environments. Experience with common CAD and or CAE tools is a plus. US CitizenSecurity Clearance, up to US SECRET (or the ability to obtain one)Experience with Automotive, Military Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle OEM’s a plus. Willingness to Travel up to 35% (US/Domestic).
