Technical Course Developer

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Technical Courseware Developer & Instructor will work with McAfee’s development team and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to produce dynamic learning solutions for clients. This position is located in Plano, TX. The Senior Courseware Developer & Instructor conducts analysis techniques (needs, task, learner, and gap), application of learning theory, instructional design process, and evaluation methods for the design and development of performance-based e-learning, workshop, and Instructor Lead training solutions. The Senior Technical Courseware Developer & Instructor also manages client and content development team relationships at the design stages and creates and assembles all project documentation relating to product design standards, and oversees the implementation of the design plan. Using Microsoft Office and multimedia applications, the Senior Technical Courseware Developer & Instructor will design, develop and then deliver McAfee Technical Product training via the World Wide Web and Classrooms in various McAfee locations around the World. The Senior Courseware Developer and Instructor will also be responsible for the creation of operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication (Create, develop, plan, write and edit). The Senior Technical Courseware Developer & Instructor will conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Research and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for technical users. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience in curriculum design and validation Proven experience with designing blended learning solutions, with equal expertise in designing workshops, Instructor Lead materials, job aids, and e-learning programs General understanding of the skills sets required to create blended learning products including multimedia authoring, multimedia artistry, programming, media creation and quality assurance and of multimedia delivery platforms (e.g., CD-ROM, DVD, web, hybrids) Mastery of electronic story boarding packages and project management tools Expert Level understanding of Microsoft Windows user interface standards, Desktop and Server Operating systems & Linux OS, as well as browser-related standards and an ongoing desire to learn and master new techniques and technologies related to training and multimedia Excellent writing skills for the content developer (Technical Writer) part of this position Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, and to prioritize those tasks Excellent client-facing skills and confidence to advise clients on instructional design A wide-ranging knowledge of available online media learning options including Learning Management systems, Learning Content Management Systems and SCORM conformance A passion for usability and accessibility Knowledge and understanding of the technical advances in e-learning development Cisco CCNA Certified (Minimum), Preferred CCNP.
