Technical Pre-Sales Consultant / Virtualization Technologies

My client, a leading international software product development company is rapidly
expanding and has an opening for a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant.  The company is an
established, profitable and successful leader in its field.  

This position is based in the greater Boston area.

The Pre-Sales Technical Consultant provides technical/business support in sales
presentations,  conducts customized product demonstrations, and answers customer
inquiries concerning product offerings and technical specifications.  This individual will
participate in sales calls to deliver solution presentations including new product
functionality  and in-depth architecture discussions.  This individual will also work
internally with the consulting group and sales to complete RFP responses, proof of
concepts, and provide input to the initial implementation approach and duration estimates.

Requirements include:
-  5+ years prior experience within technical consulting
-  Experiences with Virtualization Technologies (VMware or Xen open source)
-  Extensive experience with various sales and systems development methodologies
(preferably enterprise-wide solutions integrating with many customer systems)
- Minimum 3 years experience working for an enterprise software development company
-  Successful track record in pre-sales or post-sales with a software background is
required
-  Extensive experience working with the sales force in assisting in “closing” major sales
opportunities is required
-  Knowledge and experiences with database and web technologies would be ideal

Travel estimated at 30-50 %
