Technical Program Manager, Authoritative Content The Retail Customer Experience Group is looking for thought leaders who want to impact the next generation of global retail applications from Amazon. As a TPM in the Retail Customer Experience team you will have the unique opportunity to influence product strategy by conducting customer research, competitive analysis, industry analysis, identifying new opportunities and ultimately make recommendations to provide the best possible online shopping experience for over 60 million Amazon customers. Specifically you will be working on high profile initiatives that will span multiple Amazon categories, technologies, and countries.  Initiatives such as creating compelling Amazon destinations when shopping for music artists, authors, TV series, and actors to incorporating authoritative content (i.e. reviews from DPReview, IMDB, 1UP.com, etc. to celebrity blogs) into the Amazon shopping experience.   You will be driving large scale software initiatives, with a direct and visible impact on Amazon.com bottom line. In this role you will be responsible for collecting business and product requirements, writing product specifications, collaborating with various development & cross functional teams to architect and design multi-tiered highly scalable applications and systems in a large-scale, complex distributed environment. The position will require working closely with category managers, technical leaders, senior executives, site design and merchandising teams on product development and business requirements. You should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion. You will also be responsible in part for managing business relationships as they relate to the products and services developed. Qualified candidates must have 5 to 10 years of experience with a proven track record of delivering large scale, cross functional projects. The candidate must have excellent product and project management skills, demonstrated technical aptitude and experience, great analytical skills, strong business judgment, ability to resolve conflicts and set priorities. Ideal candidate will also have direct and relevant experience in Online retail, Consumer or ecommerce domains with a deep understanding of what constitutes an effective website, when to use new web and imaging technologies and insights into consumer shopping trends. Experience with agile development methods like SCRUM is a definite plus.
