Primary Function

Our Client is an exciting, cutting edge technology company whose core technology is in support of their intellectual property management business. This position has the primary responsibility for the successful planning, prioritization, design and deployment of business unit projects and initiatives. This role will specifically ensure the synchronization of business and technology efforts with all groups involved or impacted by the initiative by identifying and managing interdependencies and communicating as appropriate with all business units. This will include/require considerable interaction with executive level personnel in the company.

This role will be more Software Development focused rather than business process focused and having a development background would be optimal.

Essential Job FunctionWork with business stakeholders to identify, define and prioritize enhancements Assist in defining scope Coordinate IT high-level estimate development Assist in release scoping (selecting enhancements based on business priority, IT resource availability, and interdepartmental impacts) Create detailed work breakdown structure for the releases Create MS-Project project plan for releases Work with stakeholders to identify resources and apply resources to plan Create Project Plan Create Quality Assurance Plan Directly manage a project through a SDLC phases from end to end Participate in project phase reviews Manage change control process Maintain issue list and report project status Coordinate technical analysis and design activities Manage assigned projects successfully, on time, on budget, and within scope. Facilitate risk assessment and issue resolution throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. Manage internal and external customer relationships and expectations. Prepare timely and appropriate communications for escalations, project status reports, decisions and risk mitigation plans. Complete key deliverables as the initiative plan dictates

Skills, Education and Experience5-7 years experience managing cross-functional teams and software development projects for technology organizations. Good understanding of SDLC methodologies Experience managing custom “in-house” developed software projects and managing implementations of COTS applications required. Bachelors Degree in business or technical field required. Former development experience a big plus Having shipped a software product a big plus Proficiency in MS-Project software required.  Project Server experience a plus Project Management Institute Certification a plus. Position demands a team attitude and the ability to work in a rapidly changing and demanding environment Good organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others. Good written and verbal communication skills appropriate for all levels of the organization from executives to staff. Attention to detail and the ability to work under deadline constraints.
