Technical Specialist (Point of Sale)

Description Organization: Application Outsourcing Location:  Minneapolis, MN (Richfield) People within the Client Operations-AO workgroup are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. Client Operations is where the majority of Services people reside and, typically, people in the workgroup are based permanently at a client location.  Our AO resources can expect to:  Incorporate skills which support the programming, management and maintenance services required to implement and support new installations or maintain and improve existing legacy systems for our clients. Receive ongoing training to build and extend professional, technical and management skills in all areas Enjoy our comprehensive and generous benefits package  Responsibilities:  Complete documentation required by developers, testers, deployment team, and application management team that will maintain the Point of Sale application Participate in transitioning the designs to the developers and system engineers, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the designs Participate in quality management reviews, as outlined in Verification and Validation Overview ensuring the application and technology designs and related work products satisfy the requirements. Understand and communicate specific application components and technologies Manage the configuration of applications and technologies and there respective metadata and communicate specific application components and technologies Qualifications  Basic Qualifications:  10 years system design, build and test experience Must have POS (point of sale) or retail system experience Preferred Skills:  Design and integration of retail and store applications Extensive experience designing and implementing scalable, highly available, mission critical applications and underlying infrastructure. Solid understanding in application design, architecture, development, and implementation of component based applications, Dot Net,Java, EJB, Web and application servers, thin client technologies HTML, XML & integrating strategic systems with legacy systems Strong experience with and knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Windows NT4.0/2000/XP operating systems Strong experience with VB, DOS, Perl or/and Batch scripting; Prior Experience with .NET is a desirable skill Prior experience with encryption technologies is a desirable skill Ability to conduct complex systems analysis, translating user requirements into cost effective business solutions. Solid understanding of technology movement and trends. Must be able to effectively communicate with key staff and management. Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and presentations. Solid understanding of technology movement and trends. Experience in retail systems. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment. Excellent project leadership skills with the ability to multi-task delegate and prioritize tasks and a cross organizational collaboration track record.
