Widearea Systems is a convergence technology company that makes and sells Unified Communication software solutions. With its roots as premier provider of Video and Voice over IP (VVoIP) software products for the video conferencing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) over Web. Widearea Systems continues to expand its solutions to provide advanced CRM solutions and management systems for the video conferencing. We are located in Frederick, MD. You must be within commuting distance.

Widearea Systems currently has openings for 1 full time Technical Writer.



ESSENTIALS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and develop end-user technical manuals/documents and online help. Write/edit a variety of technical publications including: white papers, marketing collateral, and technical proposals. Interface with developers, QA testers, and other internal groups for research and document planning. Deliver the final documentation products within established deadlines. Support other internal/external documentation needs within the company.



REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of computer networking, information technology field (preferred) 2-5 years of experience in technical writing for commercial software products  Possess excellent writing and proofreading skills Ability to write clearly and concisely Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines Work well in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people Hands-on experience with Adobe FrameMaker or Quark/Quark Express

Hours: Full-time
