Territory Sales Manager

Are you an Absolute Asset?  Secure your future with us!TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

Break free from tradition and join this innovative and fast paced environment.  Our corporate office is situated in the financial district of downtown Vancouver, BC.  Our team is currently 230 people strong and growing.  Absolute currently has 1.6 million computer security subscriptions under management, annual revenue growth in excess of 100% and positive cash flow with growth in excess of 300% year-over-year.

Absolute Software Corporation (TSX: ABT) is the leader in Computer Theft Recovery, Data Protection and Secure Asset Tracking™ solutions. Absolute Software provides organizations and consumers with solutions in the areas of regulatory compliance, data protection and theft recovery. The Company’s Computrace® software is embedded in the BIOS of computers by global leaders, including Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, Lenovo and Panasonic, and the Company has reselling partnerships with these OEMs and others, including Apple and Toshiba.

Due to phenomenal growth and an increasing demand in the marketplace, Absolute Software is looking for a results driven, self motivated TERRITORY SALES MANAGER .  This is a management-level resource in place to execute the company sales plan and help drive success in our sales regions.  The TSM manages a team of Austin-based Territory Managers.  These Territory Managers are aligned with field based Account Executives, who report to field-based Regional Directors (RD).

Along with Regional Directors, the Territory Sales Manager reports to the Vice President of Sales.Specific Responsibilities

Based in our Austin, Texas office, the Territory Sales Manager serves two key functions; first as a management partner for the field managers, and second, as a leader for TMs.  The activities executed in support of these roles are as follows, but not limited to:

1.  Drive business – The TSM works with RD peers to implement and execute the company sales plan, and is responsible for leveraging Austin-based sales assets to drive and grow sales.

2.  Management partner - The TSM will work with RD peers to understand each region’s business strategies and supporting activities required from each TM.  The TSM drives those activities in Austin but works with RDs to manage issues as they relate to lack of execution and sales productivity.

3.  Drive customer satisfaction – The TSM gains a deep understanding of our large customers’ requirements and utilization of our products, and manages TMs to work with their available resources to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

4.  Interdepartmental Leadership - The TSM will provide leadership and an escalation path for TMs to other departments. He/she will also serve as a contact point if issues arise between department members.  The TSM will tackle small issues, but escalate large, performance impacting ones to RDs.

5.  Share communications between TMs and across regions – The TSM will manage a weekly meeting in which TMs can share experiences, get updates from other departments, discuss issues gleaned from TAMs and identify selling issues and concerns so the TSM can potentially spot trends across the business and escalate.  The Territory Sales Manager leads meetings and is committed to keeping those meetings relevant and on point.  The TSM will avoid discussions and topics that are too regionally focused so as not to foster ambiguity between the TSM and Absolute’s Regional Directors.

6.  Share communications across departments - the Territory Sales Manager will have a weekly meeting with other first line managers.  This will help bridge communication gaps between Sales and other company departments.  At a minimum, the TSM will present the QTD sales data, and with it, the Territory Sales Manager will present a snapshot of our sales by region, by product, etc. The TSM may also use the Sales forecast to provide insight into short-term and long-term future business.  Considering there may be other relevant topics that surface, the TSM can dynamically work them into the agenda as required.  Lastly, this meeting would be a good venue for other department managers to present a weekly report as well.  This meeting is best left to the TSM's management peer group and should not be attended by Senior Management unless specifically requested.

7.  Champion for our systems - The TSM will take responsibility for driving usage of our CRM tools across all TMs.  The benefits of work flow automation and automated customer management are obvious, and the Territory Manager will make sure our systems are properly utilized.
