Unix System and Network Administrator

Description
SiTEL is seeking a Senior UNIX System(FreeBAD)/Windows Administrator responsible for daily maintenance, support, design, and integration of UNIX environments serving the SiTEL development and production community. The candidate will lead and over-see the IT Security protection and maintenance tasks for production intranet and internet environment in accordance with Operations Security (OPSEC) program and physical controls. As a member of the SiTEL technical team, the candidate will represent the organization or business unit to our customers, suppliers and teammates.

Responsibilities
The primary functions include but are not limited to:

-  Analysis of customer needs, design system requirements, build, test and document system environments and implement security configurations.
-  Performance of highly complex problem determination, root cause analysis, problem resolution, error tracking, and reporting and post problem analysis at the enterprise level.
-  Working across the enterprise, model and analyze data from a computing technical and total business viewpoint, and integrate into an overall computing system and application systems architecture
-  Responsible for maintaining the existing infrastructure and taking proactive steps to achieve 24/7/365 availability

Essential Skills
-  Ability to build computing systems from a variety of components to provide a business solution including integration of application components and databases across computing platforms
-  Capable of utilizing technological tools (e.g., PC s, web sites) and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data relevant to workloads, responsibilities, problem identifications and resolutions.
-  Ability to connect networking, processing, and data management to provide the most effective computing infrastructure.

Required Qualification
-  Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 yrs related experience or Masters with 3-5 yrs related experience.
-  CCNA certificate required.
-  Strong in Unix, FreeBSD, MySQL Enterprise clustering experience. Experience with LDAP, zone and container creation and management is highly beneficial.
-  Knowledge of configuration and operation of the following hardware: Checkpoint firewall, Barracuda load balancers, ADAPTEC NAS units and IBM servers.
-  Strong knowledge of internet/intranet, peer to peer communications, networking protocols (TCP/IP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), SSH, SSL, Wireless Access Protocol (WAP),DNS and Mail server protocols(SMTP, POP3).
-  Working knowledge of software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage.
-  Building and Maintaining  web servers (Apache, IIS) and media servers.
-  In depth knowledge of Free BSD, Linux, Windows operating systems.
-  MySQL and SQL Server database management skills (Replication and Clustering).
-  Exposure to programming concepts and understanding of  PHP, C#, Java, HTML, JavaScript, XML, flash is a must.
- Server Hardware set up and configuration management
-  Knowledege of Subversion set up and maintenance
-  Experience with LDAP, zone and container creation and management is highly beneficial.
