Unix Technical Support Engineer
UNIX Technical Support Engineer

Are you looking for an opportunity to continually expand your technical repertoire? If so, we would like to speak with you. We are seeking a positive, highly motivated, Unix Technical Support Engineer to join our organization. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a high degree of UNIX proficiency and experience as either a UNIX system administrator or providing UNIX technical troubleshooting and support. We are seeking a self-starter who is committed to keeping current with emerging technology. Dedication and the ability to follow through is a must. The candidate should live within a reasonable commuting distance from Agoura Hills, California.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support and utilize troubleshooting techniques in a UNIX environment to resolve product issues for our customers.
* Provide real-time, pre-sales technical demonstrations and assistance to our prospective customers.
* Provide post-sales technical support to ensure that our customers effectively deploy, configure, and use Symark products within their environment.
* Provide occasional on-site customer support, primarily for product deployment and training.
* Participate in product demonstrations and provide technical overviews at industry trade shows throughout the United States approximately once every three months, usually for four days.
Qualifications:
* A strong UNIX background is required.
* Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, NIS/NIS+, LDAP, NFS, PAM, and sudo.
* Scripting experience (e.g. ksh, Perl, Tcl/Tk, or Expect).
* Knowledge of PKI, ssh, and Kerberos is a plus.
* Must possess outstanding verbal and written skills, as well as a professional telephone manner.
* Must be energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing.
* Bachelor*s Degree required.
