VP Product Marketing, Application Virtualization Group (AVG)
Job ID: 5118Position Description: This individual is the leader of product marketing for our Application Virtualization Group (AVG) Product Group within the Delivery Systems Division (DSD) at Citrix and works closely with the Group VP of Marketing for DSD to drive market strategy for the AVG Product line, including XenApp. XenApp is Citrix’s flagship product with revenues of over $1 billion across 200,000 customers and 70 million users.Primary Accountabilities:- Identifies and articulates clear definitions of target customers and the needs that specific products fulfill, based on direct and frequent engagement with customers- Drives the front end of the product strategy process, working closely with the divisional Group VP of Marketing and divisional GM to determine what products will be offered in the context of Citrix’s overall application delivery infrastructure strategy- Ensures the delivery of high quality, thoroughly researched Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD’s) from which product managers create the Product Requirements Documents (PRD’s) for all products in the division’s product line- Defines and drives the GTM strategies for the division’s products that are best aligned with that are channels best positioned to reach target customers. These strategies are executed by a variety of groups, including product marketing, demand marketing, field marketing, solutions marketing and channel marketing, but the VP of Product Marketing is ultimately responsible for ensuring execution for the AVG products across the company.- Creates clear, competitive differentiation that distinguishes Citrix products in the market, communicates their value propositions, and offers the right price points and licensing schemes- Is the ultimate owner of all content about the division’s products, markets, and competition to be provided to all downstream marketing and sales teams, including sales tools, sales training, competitive analysis, collateral, demos, technical marketing labs, product reviews, PR and AR content and ongoing sales and channel support- Is the primary spokesperson and “chief industry influencer” to ensure a favorable reputation for the product line externallyPosition Requirements:- Thorough understanding of the technologies and market dynamics related to key segments such as networking, application infrastructure, Windows (server and client) computing, security and virtualization.- Proven ability to operate and influence at the CxO level- Ability to identify, recruit, develop, and retain high-impact, results-oriented global teams (both direct and matrixed) capable of consistently meeting aggressive goals- Seasoned public speaker and thought leader, comfortable in front of large crowds and on camera- Experience in IT infrastructure company selling to enterprise IT organizations- Experience in companies that have multiple product lines, regions and distribution channels, including multi-tiered sales channels- Knowledgeable in software marketing strategies- Exceptional communications skills, strategic thinking through tactical execution- Strong functional understanding of building new products and revenue streams- Proven leader experienced at negotiating with and persuading engineers and making product trade-off’s- Track record of strategic acumen and market insight—demonstrated skill synthesizing competitive trends, market data, and customer insights into action plans- Must be comfortable with ambiguity and change—can set clear direction for others and make decisions in ambiguous situations and changing organizational structures- Must have demonstrated creativity and a contagious sense of urgency- Experience in companies that have had significant growth (i.e. $1B - $5B) in a short time frame- Undergraduate degree required. - MBA from a top tier business school- 15+ years leadership experience in Product Marketing, with a strong customer orientation.
