Position Overview - WAN Engineer:
Plan, design, develop, troubleshoot and implements network hardware, software, and system solutions across multiple platforms and architectures to support Corporate (Global) Infrastructure requirements.
Install, maintain, optimize, and monitor network equipment for WAN/LAN Infrastructure. This includes firewalls, routers, and switches along with the associated Operating Systems & Applications.
Perform preventative maintenance procedures to ensure equipment has latest releases, patches, and/or fixes applied. Review and troubleshoot installation of hardware and implementation of layered software solutions and products to insure that they meet the company requirements.
Assess bandwidth requirements to ensure network capacity and processing speed.
Responsibilities will include reviewing new functionality, integration requests and ensuring the implementation adheres to Corporate Policies & Procedures. Make recommendations to Management team to improve Policies & Procedures proactively.
Job Responsibilities:
• Sarbanes-Oxley compliance - daily log review and documentation maintenance
• 3rd Party VPN Tunnel configuration and management
• Maintenance of production infrastructure environments
• Network monitoring and notification
• On-call 24x7 rotation schedule (includes cell & pager)
• Bandwidth requirements and performance optimization
• Infrastructure redundancy, fail-over, security, and disaster recovery
• Network access involving DHCP, DNS and WINS
• Assist in developing Network Infrastructure Policy & Procedures
• Troubleshoot and resolve Network Infrastructure and routing issues
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years technical experience with the following technologies:
• WAN/LAN experience with Ethernet, MPLS, frame, VPN and ATM technologies.
• Cisco switches, routers and Firewalls
• CheckPoint & Nokia Firewall and appliances
• Strong NT, Domain/Security experience
• W2K, SNA, DHCP, WINS, DNS, IIS, and Replication Services, & VPN technologies
• Must be fluent with MS 2K3, 2K and XP operating systems

Education:
Post secondary education in IT or an equivalent combination of training and experience
CCNP certification and CCSA or CCSE certification preferred
