WEB Application/Database Developer

Dick Corporation, a nationally recognized contractor, construction manager, and design-builder, has an immediate opening for a Web Application/Database Developer in its Pittsburgh office.  The primary job duties encompass the development, implementation, and maintenance of web-based applications and databases, troubleshooting issues with existing or developed systems, and working with the appropriate resources to resolve them.  



Typical Duties:Construct/configure, install, and maintain several intranet applications and databases, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and implementation tasks.Consult with appropriate user and participate in definition of general and detailed requirements for new requests, process improvements and problems.  Gather information needed to solve the problem or requirement.Provide content updates for intranet and corporate Internet site.Respond to enhancement requests from the user communityMaintain existing internet/intranet web sites to ensure quality, performance and reliability.Research, communicate and apply web development best practices. Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

·  BS in Computer Science/ Management of Information Systems, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

·  Minimum 5 years of experience in Web application development.

·  Proficient with ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, HTML, AJAX, Scripting, Web Services, XML, XSLT, Visual Source Safe and associated tools, packages and extensions

·  SQL Database and Report development experience

·  Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint a plus

·  Experience in IIS installation and configuration

·  Experience in traditional software development

·  Experience with graphic editing and multimedia technology a plus

·  Strong oral and written communications

·  Creative problem solver, flexible, and proactive.

·  Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently

·  Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner

·  Strong interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
