Water Business Development Consultant

Advantica Inc. is a premier provider of advanced technology and systems solutions for high performance energy and utility companies worldwide.

 

The water sector is a growing market for Advantica and we have an exciting range of asset management software and related services that we offer to a worldwide client base. To ensure that we are best placed to exploit the exciting opportunities that exist within this sector, we are looking to recruit a business development professional who is looking for the next step in their career. Working directly for the North America Sales Director and with the Water Solution Unit Director, you will build Advantica’s industry profile and lead the sales process in target accounts.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

· Lead the sales process and strategic account planning for all assigned accounts and prospects.  Organize or plan territory and/or segment coverage.

· Acquire/convert sufficient new and repeat product business to reach assigned revenue objectives

· Assist in building sales and marketing plans sufficient to reach annual sales targets.

· Plan, coordinate, conduct, or attend cold calls, conferences and trade shows, and sales or educational seminars.

· Communicate effectively across the whole organization, acting as a focal point for water market sales.

· Maintain and update account activities as required in WAVE CRM system (or any future similar corporate tools).

· Must be able to travel extensively both domestically and potentially internationally

· Must be able to lead proposal efforts and adhere to Advantica process.

 

Other Responsibilities/Human Relations: 

 

· Maintaining an awareness of competitive activity and opportunities to provide input and perspective to competitive, economic, market and industry trends.

· Identifying, participating and leading in the development and production of appropriate marketing and promotional materials.

· Work as a member of a sales team or industry team when called upon to do so.

· Provide appropriate internal sales training/support to technical professionals to enable them to effectively participate in sales and marketing activities

 

Skills, Education, Experience:

Required

· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.

· 3-5 years of experience in working with water utilities, specifically with asset management technologies and, to a lesser extent, with hydraulic simulation technology.

· 3-5 yrs of previous software or equivalent direct sales experience

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Tenacious and able to communicate convincingly and with authority

· Personal impact and strong presentation skills 

· A proven track record of successful direct sales prospecting via telephone and personal contract

· Team worker 

· Ability to travel at least 60% of the time

 

Desired

· Previous direct sales experience into the water industry

· Working knowledge of GIS solutions

· Experience with specific asset management technologies in the area of mains replacement and integrity management

· Proficiency in ESRI core product line.

· Established in the water industry by means of personal contacts, industry conference/committee participation, etc.
