Web Application Development – Tech Lead

Key Responsibilities Include:

·  Lead the development of various web applications that leverage our core geographic-search platform, including application design, programming, deployment, and operational monitoring, with a strong focus on Web 2.0 techniques.

·  Provide strong technical leadership to a small, fast-paced team of passionate developers.

·  Creatively solve diverse and challenging technical problems as they arise.

·  Plan, develop and deploy a variety of large-scale web-based geo-search solutions, including the user interfaces and backend content acquisition/index processing systems.

·  Communicate technical requirements and issues to business, operations, and engineering staff.

·  Work with the Content Services team to define technical requirements for web-based service offerings and implement solutions to fulfill those requirements.

·  Collaborate with other team members to improve technology standards within the group.

Qualifications:

·  Strong Computer Science or Engineering background.

·  5+ years experience as a senior-level software developer.

·  Solid programming skills in a variety of languages and environments (Python a big plus).

·  JavaScript, DHTML, and general Web application programming skills a must.

·  Strong database background, such as MySQL.

·  Proficient working on a Linux platform.

·  Effective communication of technical information, both written and oral.

·  Able to manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives and competing priorities.

·  Experienced and comfortable working within a cross-functional team.

·  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a highly organized manner.

·  Strong analytical capabilities.

·  Resourceful and able to come up with creative solutions.
