Web Applications Developer - #2025

Draper Laboratory is an independent, not-for-profit engineering research and development organization.  Its mission is to serve the national interest in applied research,  engineering development, education and technology transfer.  The core competencies leveraged in Draper's work are guidance, navigation and control for strategic systems;  precision targeting and information management and decision systems; autonomous air, land, sea and space systems;  reliable, fault-tolerant embedded software; and miniature, low-power electronic and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

Design and deploy business applications in our Linux-oriented business-to-business network. Apply web services skills such as PHP, J2EE, EJB, and web page layout to create web interfaces into manufacturing, logistics, engineering design cycle, and project management data. Participate with our team in designing reliable, convenient, and secure back-end access to Oracle, DB2, and other database systems. Use open-source methodologies to rapidly develop solutions with seasoned team members in our demanding, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include interaction with customers, requiring strong presentation and communications skills.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Computer Science with 4 years experience. Shows initiative, creativity, as well as leadership potential on projects. Able to balance creativity vs. task constraints. Demonstrates ability to support project team.
