Web Developer - Course Delivery

Franklin University’s Web Development team is looking for a highly effective Web Developer to design, develop and implement web-based Java applications to support the University’s course technology infrastructure.

 

The duties and responsibilities of this position include following approved life cycle methodologies, creating design documents, performing program coding and testing and resolving issues through de-bugging, research and investigation.

 

The requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.  A Master’s degree in preferred.  The position also requires 3+ years experience in web application development with Java, JSP and Servlets and proficiency in writing Servlets, JSP’s, AJAX and EJB’s.  Familiarity with deploying to Tomcat, JBoss and Apache Web Servicer experience is also required, along with possessing Linux/Unix and strong SQL skills.  Other requirements include OOA/D (including UML modeling) with background in formal development process, an understanding of networking concepts and web security, and a demonstrated ability to leverage open source tools to increase productivity.
