Position Title: Interactive Marketing Designer

Reports to:  Director of Marketing


ConnectEdu, Inc. was founded in 2002 to streamline the “going-to-college-to-career” process with innovative web services technology.  Our employees possess backgrounds in education, business and technology, with teams across the country.  Our goal is to help students successfully manage education and career transitions by deploying our comprehensive, award-winning portal, Connect!®, to students in partnership with high schools, community colleges, colleges and employers. 

This role will focus primarily on updating ConnectEdu’s public-facing website, visual resources, and direct/email aesthetics.  The responsibilities will include updating design, refreshing content and coordinating messaging with other ConnectEdu product initiatives.  In this position the incumbent will be primarily be responsible for the design and development appearance and functionality of Flash-based website applications public facing websites.  Collaborate with internal and external development partners to design and develop strategies. Design and implement online advertising campaigns and creative using Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver.  Develop and produce interactive content for email campaigns and corporate website. Collaborate with Product Design and Marketing Teams on strategies and priorities for content plan. Develop, write and edit content for new corporate website pages, inclusive of videos and digital photography.  Develop cutting-edge multi-media applications, such as sales tools, CD-roms and DVDs, leveraging advance scripted and Web-based application development.  Utilize Federated Identity consumer database to develop effective, customized content for ConnectEdu’s target audiences,  creating email marketing messages to consumers and/or to assist the trade in product sales.  Assist Sales Team with the coordination, creation and distribution of other online content with external customers to help position the product and ConnectEdu brand in the consumer online marketplace.  Explore and initiate new rich media web-based technologies to further enhance users’ experiences with ConnectEdu’s marketing materials.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and update corporate website

· Develop creative, secure placement and measure results of e-media initiatives

· Evaluate and recommend interactive marketing media opportunities consistent with the e-media strategy and budget

· Develop and produce interactive content for public facing communications

· Develop applications for use in brand promotion

· Additional projects as needed; other duties as assigned


SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

· 5-7 years of marketing experience; at least 3 years of interactive experience

· Understanding of internet marketing techniques including search engine marketing, online advertising, social networking, blogs, podcasts, user-generated content, etc

· Project management

· Good working knowledge of XHTML and CSS

· Knowledge of Flash, Photoshop, digital photography and videography

· Must thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, possess high energy, and be willing to contribute original ideas

· Possess a passionate understanding of young adult behavior and culture within web-based environments

· BS in CS, Interactive Marketing, Design, New Media, or similar field

· Strong creative and “out of the box” thinking
