Web Developer J2EE

JOB DESCRIPTION:Job Duties and Responsibilities:The Web Developer works under the direction of Lead and Senior Web Developers to create design documents from business requirements, develop code to implement designs, and participates in code deployment and production support.Knowledge and Skills:The successful candidate must have a knowledge of and proficiency in HTML, Web Development using J2EE, Javascript, Java Beans, Java Servlets, Object Oriented Analysis and Design. The candidate should have knowledge of and familiarity with XML, Web Services/SOAP, UNIX, Linux application development, GUI design, BEA programming design, CVS, and TeamTrack?. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Education and Experience:A bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent in education and IT work experience is required. This position requires a minimum of 1 year as a web developer utilizing java and J2EE methods and 3 years of IT experience or equivalent. Direction and Supervision: The Web Developer takes direction from the Senior Web Developers and Lead Technical Specialists. This position requires a high degree of supervision for project task work, requires the web developer to seek out direction from supervisor to keep assignments focused on objectives, and requires the web developer to recognize and evaluate issues related to assignments and raise the issues to the supervisor for resolution. Communication:The Web Developer works closely with the Web Designers and Senior Web Developers as well as all project team(s) members, all support groups, and other teams with integration point ownerships.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related discipline or the equivalent in education and IT work experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a web developer utilizing Java and J2EE methods and 3 years of IT experience or equivalent. May not have any current relatives working with UPS or one of its subsidiary companies. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
