The sites, which are built on JEE technology service many millions of requests per day and are serving the needs of several different user communities. The team is responsible for implementing and maintaining, applications and application features for the sites. JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Web Developer is a technical leader within a development team, providing mentorship and guidance to other web developers. Responsible for designing and building components of scalable, secure web-based applications. Responsible for participating in the full application lifecycle including support of the application in production by researching and resolving production issues.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and maintains Java applications, using Servlets, EJBs, and JSPs with Struts and other frameworks Develops and maintains web services and reusable core components Designs, implements, unit tests and supports web based applications and documents design ideas.May lead or participate in requirements gathering session in conjunction with business sponsor.  Contributes to the review and analysis of business requirements and development of technical design/specifications.Performs technical assessments.Works with business analysts, QA testers and internal and external partners to ensure the product meets requirements.Develops static and dynamic models that document the application designConfigures and tunes application servers.Ensures cleanliness and optimization of Java code. Participate in production troubleshooting and issue correction for applications after the production implementationsParticipates in a production on-call rotation for application support

REQUIREMENTS: Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field Certification/License:
Applicable programming and analysis certifications desired Experience:Minimum eight years experience in software development of complex systems, with five years commercial web development Minimum four years experience with J2EE including JSP, Servlets, EJB, JDBC, SQL, HTML, and an application server that supports EJBs, preferably  Weblogic Experience with XML, Ant, CVS, Junit,, Struts, JMS, Web Services desired Experience applying Object Oriented principals and Design Patterns Experience with UML design and using modeling tools Experience developing highly scalable web applications Healthcare application development experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of JEE, including web and EJB tiers and JEE core patterns.Strong knowledge of basic web application conceptsBasic knowledge of web UI technologies including HTML, Javascript and CSSAbility to provide accurate work estimates and deliver projects on scheduleAbility to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWillingness to mentor, and have strong analytical and technical documentation skillsKnowledge of UMLKnowledge of XMLFamiliarity with using a Unix shell to navigate and view files and issue commandAbility to develop on UNIX platforms, preferable using Solaris, BEA Weblogic and Oracle
