Web Services Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW: Direct the overall implementation of the Web Services vision for both internal and external customers. Participate in the development of strategic objectives for the web services, coordinate the translation of objectives into requirements, manage the execution of the development effort to bring the objectives into reality through deliverable web service functionality. Investigate technology trends and serve as a resource for identifying technology solutions that enable the communication of a message, theme, promotion, etc. as requested. Manage a web implementation team to complete identified projects in an efficient manner and develop maintenance strategies to enable rapid update and modification consistent with the marketing needs of the company.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
BS degree or higher in instructional technology, marketing, computer science or information systems

EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years related work experience in Internet site development and implementation, including database development, technical programming, web site design and daily operational maintenance. Proven experience managing development teams implementing web technology. Demonstrated successful project management experience. Ability to assess organizational needs through interaction with both internal and external customers and help define development direction and required resources. Experience managing outsourced development in support of web site development strategy. Command of technical tools/languages required for development and maintenance of web services.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

PEOPLE & ASSET MANAGEMENT Manages team members assigned to website projects, which may consist of direct reports and/or indirect reports assigned to specific portions of the projects. Directs activities of other web site staff. Works closely with IT Department to assure sufficient hardware and software resources are available and planned for to support growth and expansion. Works closely with Marketing Communications to develop the flow of information, content, graphics, etc. to support a consistent promotional theme.
DEVELOP WEBSITE STRATEGY AND VISION Participates in the development of strategic objectives for web services. Manages the Implementation of company's websites. Participates in the analysis, organizational needs development, design and implementation of webpages and applications. Acts as primary communications link between the administrative/technical staff and the web site development team. Consults with users and project teams to determine requirements. Oversees information architecture providing a clear and intuitive experience that meets our customers' expectations. Interacts with customers in the field to understand their perspective and translates the information into implementation requirements. Develops business partnerships, within and outside the organization as necessary including outsourced relationships that support the web services implementation timelines. Participates in the marketing planning development process, providing key input to the promotional strategy. Provide guidance for the expansion of e-commerce implementation.
IMPLEMENT & MAINTAIN WEBSITES Develops a scalable architecture that supports frequent updates consistent with the expectations of the internal customers (marketing, sales, etc.). Oversees the information architecture and ensures that changes, updates, new approaches provide a clear and consistent message to our customers. Provides direction for the transfer of communications materials to Company's website. Develop processes to support e-commerce implementation and maintenance. Performs technical programming as necessary. Develops and implements new capabilities on Company's web server. Coordinates with Marketing Communications on content and graphical development to support consistent promotional message as defined in the market plan.
