POSITION:   WORKBRAIN SENIOR TECHNICAL CONSULTANT

Location: Any

Travel:  60-85% (Monday to Thursday)

 

SUMMARY:  

 

As a Senior Technical Consultant you will be part of a team of professionals responsible for the implementation of workforce management software solutions.  Consultants participate in the full lifecycle of a client's implementation, ensuring sound design, development, testing and migration practices throughout the process.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Contribute to successful implementations and customer satisfaction as a key member of project implementation teams.

·  Participate in the full lifecycle of a client implementation including Discovery, Design, Build and Configure, Testing, Migration and Transition.

·  Develop solutions that extend workforce management applications (reports, interfaces, conversions and extensions including pay rules and workflows).

·  Develop an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of workforce management applications, architectures, database schemas, and development tools so as to properly and creatively use features to meet client needs.

·  Become familiar with current workforce management vendor offerings

·  Collaborate with Business Analysts to write design specifications.

·  Provide expertise on technologies such as Weblogic, Websphere, application development, Java, JSP, database development and design, migrations, and solution deployment

·  Provide expertise in application performance, scalability, reliability and security.

·  Ensure solutions conform to current industry standards as well as to The Hackett Group’s internal guidelines and standards.

 

Required Skills:

 

·  Minimum of 3 years IT consulting experience and exposure to all phases of software development

·  Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering and/or Mathematics.

·  Minimum 1 year of experience with Java-based technologies (J2EE, JSP, J2SE, JDBC).

·  Minimum 2 years of experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) including normalization, constraints, indexes, triggers, and SQL.

·  Experience with Unix/Linux.

·  Minimum 2 years of experience with application servers (BEA Weblogic, Oracle 9iAS, IBM WebSphere) and exposure to Unix/Linux and build software such as ANT.

·  Proven experience with large scale client-based enterprise software implementations.

·  Proven ability to analyze and solve problems, as well as communicate effectively.

·  Proven ability to write clear and concise requirements and design specifications.

·  The Senior Technical Consultant role requires a minimum of three years implementation experience with the Workbrain workforce management software system.  Candidates with experience in other workforce management solutions (e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Cybershift, Workforce Software, Timera, JDA) will also be considered.
