Working on a core technology for Mac OS X you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple's consumer operating systems products. Our environment fosters product innovation, rapid product iteration, and a liberating amount of autonomy.Responsibilities* Work with a highly skilled engineering team in the design and implementation of kernel technologies* Drive product features and functional/industry specifications* Involvement in specification for hardware platforms.* Bringup, verification, and debug of new hardware platforms* Work with cross-functional teams to support product requirements for iPhoneRequired Experience:* A genuine passion for kernel technology* Previous experience in kernel engineering* Previous experience with platform bring-up* Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms & processor architectures* Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills* Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules* Excellent collaborative skills* Outstanding written and verbal communication* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/skillsAdditional Success Factors:* Mac OS X exposure (end user, administrator, developer)* Experience with operating system kernels (MacOS X, Linux, BSD, UNIX, Windows)* Experience with common embedded hardware architectures (ARM, PPC, MIPS, Intel)* Ability to understand board schematics Perk #56: New ways to stretch your mind.
