You will be part of the team responsible for designing and developing the software, tools, and best practices for monitoring the Salesforce.com service. Your software will be in use 24/7/365 by the operations staff. You will provide tools and data that will identify impending problems and allow for rapid diagnosis and resolution. This is a development position -- you will not be "on call" for monitoring the service, however UNIX system administration experience is desirable. Responsibilities: You must be an experienced software developer able to create an application's architecture, define its interfaces, and then implement and debug that software. Required Skills/Experience: * Minimum 5 years experience developing server-side Java applications * Expert knowledge in java management technologies including JMX, MBeans, Java 1.5 management features and SNMP * Systems monitoring concepts and algorithms including statistical analysis * Experience developing software that handles large volumes of data * Bachelors degree in computer science or similar engineering field Desired Skills: * Knowledge of SNMP * Knowledge and experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology * Experience integrating with other monitoring and management third party software such as BMC, Tivoli, EMC, etc. Employees at salesforce.com consider their experience as defining points in their careers.
