The programs will be targeted to create competitive advantage by developing talent key to achieving specific strategic goals. Reporting to the SVP Employee Success, the VP will help recalibrate our existing content, and align our work around talent management programs such as talent assessments, high potential, succession planning, internal mobility, etc. The VP is responsible for all content related to core skills, such as negotiation, problem solving, presentation, etc., as well as our career development programs. The VP will also build out our offering of management foundation programs in areas including communications, driving performance, and people/team development, which will raise the quality of our managers across all levels of the company. Our VP Leadership and Employee Development is a change-agent. Bright, effective communicators are most successful at salesforce.com. Collaboration within Employee Success team and with Company leaders/managers is key. The VP must possess the confidence and abilities necessary to originate, launch and manage company-wide training and development programs/initiatives. Responsibilities: Thought Leadership & Evangelism: Distill the company's overall talent needs and emerging demands to develop the vision for our talent development organization. Serve as an evangelist for effective leadership and employee development at all levels. Partnership: Work within salesforce.com’s culture to develop relationships. Work with executive team and SVP of Employee Success to develop and champion a shared view of leadership development architecture, ensuring an adequate pool of leaders with the capabilities required to grow the company and revolutionize our industry. Work with business unit executives and Employee Success leaders to understand and provide programs that meet their needs. Balance company-wide consistency with localization to meet business unit needs. Program & Content Development: Evolve programs to keep pace with company change. Identify short/long term skill gaps and manage development investments to close those gaps, accelerate internal development, retain high performers and ensure development of emerging talent. Develop, design and implement appropriate strategies to identify, prepare and facilitate the movement of talent and the development of training and career ladders. Quality Execution: Take a hands-on approach to the design and delivery of experiences and tools for salesforce.com leaders. Build a reputation for quality and impact. Ensure that methods of measuring quality and impact are in place. LED Operations: Grow the team – One Director (in place), three Program Managers, and two Program Coordinators (one in place), and several preferred vendors report to this position. Establish budgets, delivery plans, performance metrics and other processes for an effective management of your part of Employee Success.Required Skills/Experience: Approximately ten years of progressively responsible experience in HR with concentration in talent management/organizational development/training. A Bachelor's degree in related field is required, plus advanced knowledge in training and organizational development matters; A Graduate degree or equivalent highly desired.
