Location: San Leandro, CA (corporate headquarters)Corporate Background: Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is the leading provider of innovative crane, rigging and transportation solutions for industrial, commercial and government applications.  We are seeking a very capable Administrative Assistant in our Safety/Risk Management Department.  We have been in business since 1916 and are proud to have been richly involved in the development of California.  Bigge hauled steel for the building of the Golden Gate Bridge; transported Liberty shuip sections during World War II and assisted in the San Francisco Bay Area's recovery after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Today we operate throughout the United States and in key geographuies worldwide; providing innovative solutions and quality equipment for heavy lift, heavy transport and other customer needs.
 



Position Description:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Provide administrative support of a responsible and confidential nature to the Safety and Risk Management department The ability to multi-task and change priorities is requiredHandles and processes confidential information regarding employees and clientsPerforms daily administrative tasks including correspondence preparation and distribution; report preparation and filing; claims processing and regulatory compliance matters

Required Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience assisting in a construction safety/risk management department Ten plus years total administrative experience preferredSound judgment, accuracy, timeliness and reliability are key skills required for this positionThis position requires a professional, dependable and dedicated individual Attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are essentialExhibit discretion and ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential informationExcellent writing, grammar and proofreading skills are necessary for reports, letters and e-mailsIndividual must be capable of composing accurate and professional business correspondenceThe ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously is critical Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel essential Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, outside professionals and employees at all levels within the organization
