Area Manager

Our professional services firm is presently seeking to fill a full-time position for an Area Manager assigned to manage our projects team in the Central Texas area.  This position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position has been filled.




Position:  Area Manager based in Austin, Texas.

 

Experience:  8 years commerical construction project management experience with degree, or 12 years commerical construction project management experience without degree.  Experience with healthcare or higher education projects is preferred.

 

Required Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Science.

 

Required Liscences, Registration, or Certifications:  Liscenced Engineer/Architect or Certified Construction Manager.



Special knowledge, abilities, and skills:  Knowledge of construction principles and practices.  Ability to read and interpret Contract Documents and the ability to maintain an effective relationship with Project A/Es and contractors.



Purpose, Scope and Responsibilites of Position:  The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of company operations for projects in the Austin area, including:

· Project execution using best practices while maintaining 100% customer satisfaction.

· Develop new project opportunities and cultivate relationships that lead to business growth.

· Provide leadership through recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.

· Manage resources while monitoring project and budget progress.

· Achieve financial standards while maintaining timely fiscal reporting.

 

Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate project objectives and issues and work effectively with user groups, internal technical staff, outside consultants, and senior administration within the client organization.  Sound judgment and sensitivity to issues of policy and process is critical.  This position requires the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, be a self-starter, manage multiple priorities, and complete work under pressure of deadlines. 

 

This position will is based in the firm’s Austin, Texas, office and will require occasional travel.
