Company Overview
J. Kent Staffing is searching for an experienced Benefits Supervisor for the growing US Division of an international oil/gas firm with operations in Canada, Australia, Indonesia and the U.S. Headquarters of the U.S. Division are in Denver, CO with over 2000 employees in the Rocky Mountain and California regions. Diverse operations include drilling, well services, rental equipment and related trucking operations.

Position Overview
Benefits Supervisor reports to the HR Manager and is responsible for overseeing the administration of numerous employee benefit programs for up to 2000 U.S. employees and hands-on administration of the company’s 401(k) Plan for approximately 600-700 plan participants. Will also be responsible for supervising 2 full-time benefits team members and for assisting HR Manager with various other HR generalist functions and special projects.
Due to the nature of the oil/gas drilling business, there is a high turnover for field workers. Therefore, Benefits Supervisor is responsible for regular and consistent internal audits of insurance costs, premiums and employee census information (hires, terminations) to ensure HR benefits costs are kept in check and proper procedures are in place to ensure accurate and timely benefits administration.
Supervisor interacts frequently with HR department of 5, internal accounting/payroll department, field employees, benefits consultants, insurance companies, attorneys (employment & ERISA) and ADP payroll processing vendor.
Exempt Position Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm OR 7am – 4pm OR 6am – 3pm, etc. with approximately 5 hours/week overtime on the average.
Requirements
§ 4 year college degree REQUIRED
§ 6 – 10 years of progressive, stable HR experience with a strong foundation in benefits & 401k administration
§ Knowledgeable in HR rules, laws and compliance procedures in regards to ERISA, EEOC, COBRA, FMLA, ADA
§ Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
§ Preferred experience in ADP and ReportSmith
§ Oil & Gas or construction industry experience preferred (ie, experience in industries with large amount of hourly/field workers)
§ Self-starter; one who takes strong initiative and is able to work in a hands-on position
§ Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, to include speaking in front of large groups of people/employees.
§ Must be able to travel to job sites and other company offices for trainings approximately 5% of the time.
