Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Industry: Building Construction/Skilled Trades Job Type: Full Time, Employee     Job Description Position Description:The Branch Manager is responsible for the daily operation, and the profit and loss management, of a $2 to $6 million-dollar branch operation that provides specialty engineered rental products and services. Commodities include silenced diesel generators, large diesel, electric and hydraulic pumps, air-cooled chillers, air-conditioning, electric heat, desiccant dehumidification, load banks and electrical distribution. The Branch Manager must be willing to work long unscheduled hours, be physically capable and willing to perform manual tasks, and be willing to work in the “trenches” with the employees.Manage overall branch operations to ensure productivity, customer service and profitability:• Coordinate and be involved in sales efforts and business initiatives, including the daily review of contracts and debt collection efforts.• Report on branch finances by preparing various reports including profit and loss statements, rental income forecasts, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets, and other reports as needed.Manage branch personnel:• Recruit top of the line employees for all branch positions.• Ensure compliance with all company procedures in regard to new hires, terminations, performance issues, payroll, etc.• Supervise personnel development and training, including performance appraisal evaluations for all staff members.Ensure all safety policies and procedures are being followed at all times:• Manage all safety matters including audits, training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations and drug and alcohol testing.• Perform and monitor daily operations, including yard inspections, loading and delivering equipment, repairing equipment, and set-up and tear down activities. To Apply Visit United Rentals, Inc.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education• Minimum 5 years of successful business management and sales experience with profit and loss responsibility at a branch or other individual profit center• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience • Have an understanding of the rental business as it pertains to specialty engineered rental products and services• Strong customer service skills with a passion for sales• Strong organizational, motivational, and communication skills (both oral and written)• Proficiency with MS Office (especially Word, and Excel)• Understanding of business accounting principals and budget preparation• Engineering aptitude: Ability to properly size, quote, install and maintain large projects that may range from critical sewer by-pass, industrial process cooling, construction and water damage drying, multi-level power distribution at various voltages and large scale climate control projects• Strong mechanical aptitude• Ability to train and motivate at all levels of the branch structure• Exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas or fumes• Some work with branch personnel to perform equipment loads, deliveries, repairs, setups and pick ups• Occasional lifting up to 45 lbs; rarely lifting up to 75 lbs with assistance• Occasional overnight travel and overtime required, including active involvement in after hours and weekend projectsOther duties as required
