We have two locations to service our customers better, one in St. Louis, MO and one in the heart of Columbia, MO. For over 40 years, Tech has been designing, installing, and maintaining telephone systems, fire alarms, security systems, sound systems, and much more for essentially every type of company and institution in the metro area.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to add to our team. The Business Development Manager’s primary responsibility is to identify sales opportunities within Tech’s selected market segments at the earliest possible stage, assuring that the project’s stakeholder are informed of Tech’s systems, technologies, products, and service offerings. In conjunction with other members of Tech’s sales team, the Business Development Manager moves projects from the discovery phase, through the sales process, and on to a successful conclusion resulting in a lifetime customer and increased market share.
This individual will conduct annual meetings to address customer’s concerns and needs, actively participate in key industry organizations and events, and achieve harmonious business relationships with the customer, Tech’s sales, operations, and service strategic business units. Additionally, a strong customer service orientation is essential, and required, in building relationships with new and existing customers.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (and/or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of five (5) years’ successful business-to-business selling experience and a confirmable track record of increasing responsibility and improving results. Experience with a long, complex sales cycle, where multiple decision makers are the norm and established construction, engineering, architectural, educational, and health care contacts in St. Louis and the surrounding region is highly preferred.

· Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
· Ability to clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations
· Strong results orientation
· Ability to interact effectively at all levels
· Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves
· Ability to prepare professional correspondence, proposals, etc
