CAD Technician (2) - Sacramento Office

Transportation Structural/Civil Engineering consulting firm seeking a full-time Senior Bridge CAD Technician and Entry-Level CAD Technician for bridge projects.

 

Senior Bridge CAD Technician

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Work directly with bridge engineers to develop bridge layouts, plans & details for Bridges of the following types: Cast-in-place Concrete Box Girder, Precast Concrete I-Girder, Concrete Box Culverts, etc.Performs routine drafting and technical tasks as required throughout the project duration.Assist in developing exhibits for marketing proposals.Maintains quality standards, format special requirements, etc. as mandated by office production standards.Responsible for accuracy, meeting deadlines and working closely with the structures team.

 Qualifications and Skills:



 Immediate ability to begin producing quality 2D drawings while using our Structures Group standards for Caltrans, Southern California Counties & Cities.  Both English & Metric projects.  Knowledge of Caltrans standards a plus.Must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.Ability to be flexible and adaptable with exceptional time management skills.Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other co-workers and/or departments within organization.



Education and Requirements:

 Minimum of seven years of bridge layout and detailing experience - Caltrans experience preferred.Experience using Microstation, AutoCAD 2005 and Microsoft Office application.Proficiency with Microstation J and/or 8.

Entry-Level CAD Technician:

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Applicant will develop CAD drawings using Microstation for designs and details as established by project bridge engineers. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of CAD experience, using Microstation or AutoCad for Civil and Structural projects & designs. Microstation experience is a plus, however, not required.  Training will be provided for if necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:Must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.Ability to be flexible and adaptable with exceptional time management skills.Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other co-workers and/or departments within organization.A strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, good communication skills, and interest in advancement in the bridge engineering field is necessary. 

Education and Requirements:

Minimum of 1-2 years experience using Microstation or AutoCAD.A candidate without direct work experience but possessing a technical degree in CAD will be considered.
