COST ENGINEER

 GREAT CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR A COST ENGINEER IN NORTH COUNTY!

 

J.R. Filanc Construction Company, Inc. in Escondido, has an immediate opening for a detailed focused Cost Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of job costing including entering, collecting, and analyzing cost data for construction projects.

 

KEY JOB DUTIES:

1. Monitor progress of updating job cost in accordance with company policy.

2. Perform timely updates of job cost reports.

report on costs incurred, revenues and irregularities.

3. Collect cost data required to monitor all project cost accounts to ensure that these accounts reflect actual costs to be matched against revenue and any irregularities reported to senior management.

4. Reviews on a monthly basis, in conjunction with project field personnel, progress within the project and determine the value of the completed work.

5. Develop budget forecasts and monitor progress of work per cost account to ensure adherence to budget.

6. Prepare month end profit and loss report for budgeted segments of project and forward to senior management together with the construction forecast to reflect most current plans/requirements.

7. Calculate/prepare various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis, including change order cost analysis.

8. Assist in analyzing work progress and developing productivity reports to document cost/budget activity.

9.  Assist in preparing special reports, research and studies.

10. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

Will generally work in an office environment with occasional field visits to project sites.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Educational and experience requirements include:

Four year degree plus 3 year construction job cost experience or equivalent combination training and /or related experience.  Working knowledge of cost accounting, basic estimating, plus understanding of construction technology, process systems and/or structures required.  Must be detail oriented, analytical, and able to work well with others.  Advanced Excel is required and proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
