Chief Engineer

Chief Engineer --- Cupertino, CA

 

We are seeking the candidate who will provide hands on management of multi buildings, to become a leader within the Building Management Engineering team and play a key role for gaining Energy Star and LEED Certifications for the buildings.

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct, control and supervise all mechanical/electrical operations and maintenance engineering for a Mission Critical and office environment facility(s) in accordance with management and client’s goals:

· Supervise stationary engineers and utility engineers for Office and Critical Operations Data Centers in a 24x7 environment.

· Conduct regular inspection tours of all equipment and systems.

· Maintain documentation files on inspections, operating and maintenance costs, hazardous materials, permits and licenses and all appropriate logs.

· This is a management position; however, the right candidate should be prepared to support the team and perform work as an engineer and use the tools of the trade when occasion demands.

· Interact and monitor contractors and vendors relating to engineering projects, including obtaining quotes and scheduling.

· Budget preparation and monthly and periodic reports for annual budget.

· Approve and oversee purchase order and contract administration using financial tracking software (Yardi)

· Estimate cost of operating and maintenance projects.

· Implement energy saving and cost reduction recommendations, and track results.

· Respond to emergency situations and perform tasks necessary for well-being and protection of property and occupants.

· Report to management on established regular basis and submit written and verbal reports on all aspects of operations and maintenance.

· Interact with on-site and off-site Sr. Management and Business Unit Directors/VP’s.

· Interact with cross functional teams for assigned projects.

 

QUALIFICTIONSHigh School/Technical School diploma Relevant CertificationCommissioning and re-commissioning of building systems experience preferred10 years commercial or campus related experienceHands on experience in Data Center/Mission Critical support operations

 

 

 REQUIRED SKILLS  Thorough knowledge of life safety system; HVAC system; UPS systems, diesel generators; boilers, diesel and electric fire pumps; plumbing, electrical, and pneumatic controls; and building management systems and interact with IS team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good to excellent computer skills. Leadership, managerial, teamwork, prioritization and interpersonal skills.Excellent work ethics, integrity, and sense of humor.Ability to interact with client and client employees, senior management, staff, and vendors as a professional at times.
