Civil Construction Planner

JOB DUTIES: This position will be in support of the SBInet program.
The objectives of SBInet is to provide an integrated defense-in-depth
that will support the interdiction of illegal immigration and internal
and external threats operating in or moving through the international
borders with Canada and Mexico. Managing, securing, and controlling the
border requires determining the optimum mix of technology,
infrastructure, and response platforms to achieve maximum tactical and
strategic advantage in each unique border environment.

Construction Planner for the implementation of tactical infrastructure
and facility upgrades in support of the SBInet program.  The selected
individual will coordinate plans and schedules with subcontractors,
other disciplines, planners, and engineers.  The Construction planner
will develop an accurate planning logic with attainable duration and
dates in the Master schedule.

Specific Duties Include

- Civil/structural estimating, and pricing
- Create requisitions for materials and subcontracts
- Scheduling with Microsoft Project or working with project scheduler
- Attend and input to design reviews
- Work with engineers and contractors in monitoring the schedules,
productivity and progress trend
- Update milestones; prepare project progress reports, weekly
accomplishment reports and status of critical path.
- Support preparation of budget and cost estimates
- Prepare and review bids packages
- Recommend approval of extension of time claim by cont

JOB SKILLS: Education
- Minimum 5 years civil/structural planning experience in construction
planning
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as demonstrated through
past performance
- Ability to communicate well with multiple levels of personnel
- Proficient with Microsoft Office computer skills and email
- Scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project(r) a plus
- Ability to work well in the office environment or at project sites

Must be able to successfully pass a Department of Homeland Security
Background Investigation post start.
