Civil, Structural, Geotechnical and Mechanical Engineers

The Bioengineering Group (www.bioengineering.com) is an engineering and design company that strives to maintain or improve the ecological productivity of our clients’ sites in the process of achieving program objectives.  We approach each project with a clear understanding of ecological conditions and the landforms, soils and water resources that support them.  As a group of scientists, engineers, and landscape architects working closely together, our overarching goal is to create sustainable communities.

We are currently undergoing significant growth. Contracts with the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Katrina devastated New Orleans have created multiple opportunities for Engineers interested in working on hurricane protection infrastructure and costal restoration. Projects will involve slope stability, seepage analysis, levee and floodwall design, bridge and road design, site civil design, and much more.  What makes these positions special is Bioengineering Group’s interdisciplinary design process and attention to the long-term sustainability of the sites we work on. 



Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree is a plus; 2-5 years experience with an EI OR 5-8 years experience with a PE in civil, structural, geotechnical or mechanical engineering is required, but licensed in Louisiana is a huge plus; Experience with permitting is a plus; Experience with marketing and public outreach is welcome; Strong analysis, design, and report writing skills; Ideal candidates will be trained and experienced in project management; Emphasis is placed on teamworking abilities that will integrate the interdisciplinary skills of Bioengineering Group staff.
