Communications Systems Engineer - Baltimore MarylandWe are seeking a Communications Systems Engineer with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and eight to ten years experience in digital data communications systems and/or real time control systems. The successful candidate will be part of a team assigned to manage a major contract to replace many of the control, communications and electrical systems on the Baltimore subway system. Responsibilities will include both technical tasks such as review of the contractor's design submittals and management tasks to respond to contractor's questions, manage a team of inspectors, interface with the subway system operations and maintenance departments, initiate and document contract changes and approve contractor payments, all under the direction of the Construction Manager.  Assignments are designed to develop engineering knowledge of a variety of systems utilized in rail transit systems and abilities in construction and contract management.Must be computer literate with experience in standard office software. Experience with project scheduling a plus.Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) and understand scope of work requirements.
