Construction Site Project Manager

 

 

The Knoxville, TN regional office of a National environmental and engineering services firm is looking for self-motivated individuals to provide on-site project management and field engineering services for primarily HVAC and EMCS controls construction projects located throughout the country. These positions will be staffed out of the Knoxville, Tennessee office until construction begins. Individuals will provide engineering and construction coordination between client, site personnel, construction subcontractors and GMI design engineering personnel.

Position will require:
*production of daily progress reports;
*weekly status reports;
*overseeing construction progress, quality, and adherence to design documents;
*documenting status daily on construction drawings;
*coordinating with client personnel;
*assisting in obtaining appropriate permits;
*scheduling which may involve actual development and production of schedule using MS Project;
*contractor payment application review and recommendations;
*coordinating with design and/or commissioning personnel to ensure systems are ready for checkout;
*confirmation that submitted equipment is actual equipment installed;
*ensure equipment installation meets both design documents and supplier's installation guides;
*develop and document punch lists at appropriate time;
*and all other pertinent issues.

Position will be involved with the project during the design phase as possible and practical to help become familiar with the construction requirements.


Requirements

Successful individual must have a minimum of 5 years of construction management and/or construction site superintendent experience. Successful applicant must be capable of managing a construction project which involves work simultaneously being performed within multiple buildings which typically remain occupied during construction. Individual with experience commissioning HVAC and/or EMCS systems is considered a plus. HVAC and/or DDC/EMCS controls design background is a further plus.

Individual must be competent in editing and creating new documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project software.

Individual will become part of a growing division within GMI that is providing systems assessments, economic feasibility analyses, engineering design, construction management and retro-commissioning of HVAC, EMCS controls, and lighting systems for facilities.
