Commercial Attorney, Las Colinas – Irving, TX Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified ATTORNEY for our Las Colinas location.The growth of the company has led to the need for an attorney with expertise and experience in the area of commercial transactions in the construction materials industry.The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate law department dealing with commercial transactions. Experience in construction and construction materials industries is helpful. The candidate will primarily provide legal advice and services to operations on sales, purchasing and other commercial transactions; in addition the position will likely be assigned legal tasks on other issues from time to time.This position is for the experienced Attorney. The expectation is that you will arrive with the skills necessary to function in a contributing legal capacity immediately. You will have frequent interaction with business operation leaders many times on an urgent basis. In most routine matters the candidate will perform legal tasks directly, although in some cases the candidate will be responsible for retaining and managing outside law firms to advise or assist.This position reports to the Lehigh Hanson VP, General Counsel. The Lehigh Hanson legal department is responsible for the legal affairs of the Lehigh Hanson group, which is the North American arm of HeidelbergCement AG.Lehigh Hanson is one of the world's largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. Preparing (draft or review drafts prepared by others) of contracts for the sale of construction materials and purchase of supplies, energy, equipment and other goods and for construction contracts for plants and improvements.2. Assisting in developing and implementing standardized terms and conditions for purchase orders and sales contracts and contracts for various services.3. Advising company managers on the rights and obligations of the company under contracts and commercial transactions.4. Participating in due diligence review and related transactional review of commercial agreements and related matters in the acquisition or divestiture by the company of a business or other assets.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution, membership in a state bar in good standing.• 3-5 years experience with a law firm or legal department dealing with commercial transactions.OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Membership to the State Bar of Texas in good standing.• Commercial transactional experience with a construction, construction materials, mining or manufacturing company.Benefits:BENEFITS & COMPENSATIONWe know that our employees are critical to our overall success.
